How
does QuasarPlus work?
Each
QuasarPlus lens is designed for the individual eye; it has a
mathematically complex shape which is calculated to provide a
central zone of distance vision and then progressively more reading
addition towards the edge of the lens. The individual wearer's
distance and reading powers, as well as the shape of their eye,
is included in the calculation. As you look down to read, your
rigid contact lenses will move by about 2mm (this is called 'translation
on downgaze') so that when you've finished looking down, your
pupil will be looking through a part of the lens that has a different
prescription to when you are looking straight ahead. It is normal
for rigid lenses to move on downgaze; this encourages tears and
oxygen to be pumped under the lens and keeps your eyes healthy.
Is it
easy to get used to wearing QuasarPlus?
QuasarPlus
is a varifocal lens - which means that the power changes continuously
across the optic zone - so give yourself time to get used to
the varifocal optics. You may need to practice everyday visual
tasks to help you adapt, just as you would if you had varifocal
glasses.
Will
